The Saga:

Lovely and seldom seen, the Mk III “radial” dial is (for me) the most unusual matte 1675 dial. I think the inset luminous plots are a stroke of genius and I’ll tell you why. First, let’s remind ourselves that this watch is meant to display both local and “GMT” time. To my eye, moving the luminous plots closer to the center helps set the local and GMT times apart by further isolating them, thereby making it easier to read the time!

Tech Specs:

Reference: 1675

Year of manufacture: 1977

Serial Number: 500XXXX

Dial: Very good Mk III “radial dial” with créme brûlée luminous plots and matching hands, save for the 24hr hand. The GMT hand has somehow evaded the patina present on the other three. It does however contain tritium, so it’s still possibly original.

Bezel insert: Good pepsi bezel insert with an excellent and even fade. There is however some pitting by the 3, 15, and 18 numerals/dots.

Case: the case was professionally refinished around 2015 by the previous owner and remains thick and even. Prominent chamfers are present on all four lugs closely resembling the factory proportions.

Bracelet: 78360 bracelet is 11 links and 580 end links. “A” date code. Minimal stretch.

Movement: Rolex caliber 1575

Accessories: putting the “rad” in “radial”
