The SAGA:
A little history from Rolex themselves:
“As an underwater survival tool, this watch’s design has been entirely dictated by the practical needs of divers. Since 1953, the Submariner has evolved technically as it has been endowed with features to improve overall functionality. The first watch was a pioneer and subsequent versions have continued to set the benchmark for divers’ watches”
In the spirit of innovation and technical progress, the Rolex Submariner reference 1680 was the first submariner to feature a date complication. It was also the first submariner date to feature factory tritium luminous material. The shape of the tritium luminous plots—circles, rectangles, and a triangle—makes the time easy to read accurately in the darkest night or murkiest depths.
